Hello , World I'm Nicole.

About

My passion for technology and learning has led me to study a Master in Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton. My interests include web development specifically front-end development, web design, software engineering and machine learning. I currently work as a web designer for the Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and I also work as a biometrics researcher assistant at the the Computer Science Department at CSUF. My experience is diverse in nature due to my business and accounting background. Feel free to check out the rest of my portfolio and contact me with any questions.

Projects

The purpose of projects is to gain experience in something you have never done before. A lot of my projects have used a wide variety of different techniques and programming languages.

Biometrics

Multimodal Biometrics via Discriminant Correlation Anaylsis

Developed detectors that would extract, fuse, and train features from voice and face found in the MoBio dataset. Model was trained using traditional machine learning classifiers SVM, LDA, QDA, RF, and k-NN. In our teams reserach we used Python, DNN, Scikit-learn, Librosa, Open-Cv, Numpy, and Pandas. Overall, our pipeline used feature-fusion. The purpose of our research was to see how well multimodal biometrics works against a single modality biometric. Also comparing against past biometrics research.

Emnist

Recognizing Handwritten Letters

Using a Convolutional Neural Network to recognize handwritten letters in the eminst dataset. I was able to achieve around 94% accuracy in my project. The technologies used were Python, Keras, TensorFlow, Matplotlib. Click on the picture to see the code.

Stock Predictor

Stock Predictor

Created a stock predictor using Yahoo! Technology Stock Screener. Stocks that had predictions that had a gain of $2+ were sent directly to my message box.
